Owensby & Kritikos, Inc. (O&K) has
entered in a strategic alliance with a local rope repelling
company. This unique agreement allows both parties to expand
the business relationship with each other’s client base.
Additionally, it provides an expanded base of trained NDE
personnel that have received authorized and approved rope
repelling training and safety instruction.
Our rope repelling
alliance partner also brings an expanded base of services to O&K by furnishing our customers with services such
as welding, minor blasting and painting, insulation replacement
and repairs.

This combination of talent has
incorporated the strength of two solid organizations. Rope
repelling in the workplace has carved a unique niche that is
rapidly being recognized as a viable combination. The quick and
efficient access to difficult work areas and tremendous cost
savings versus fixed scaffolding are quickly making this
technology widely accepted by the industry.
The rope repelling industry is
safe. All of the set-ups include dual attachment to tie off
anchor points. The work crew is normally made up of three
workers. One person is a Level III, which through hours of
actual rope time and training classes qualifies him to be the
site supervisor. He is the person responsible for overseeing
the selection of set-up points and rigging of the safe lines.
There are two other individuals who support the team that
perform the actual work duties on the elevated system.

This
technology is widely accepted by chemical plants, the refining
industry, the offshore oil and gas industry and the drilling
contractor/operators for access to difficult work areas.
